Members of the local unit of the Karnataka State Government Doctors
Association took out a procession and submitted a memorandum to the
government through the Deputy Commissioner here on Friday stating that
AYUSH practitioners should not be permitted to use allopathic medicines
during emergencies. Since AYUSH practitioners were unaware of the
adverse effects of some allopathic medicines, it would be dangerous to
allow them to prescribe them. Referring to the permission given in other
States, they stated that Karnataka need not emulate others in this
regard.
